3D Scans
Cone-beam computed tomography systems (CBCT) are a variation of traditional computed tomography (CT) systems. The CBCT systems used by dental professionals rotate around the patient, capturing data using a cone-shaped X-ray beam. These data are used to reconstruct a three-dimensional (3D) image of the following regions of the patient’s anatomy: dental (teeth); oral and maxillofacial region (mouth, jaw, and neck); and ears, nose, and throat (“ENT”). Dental CBCT systems have been sold in the United States since the early 2000s and are increasingly used by radiologists and dental professionals for various clinical applications including dental implant planning, visualization of abnormal teeth, evaluation of the jaws and face, cleft palate assessment, diagnosis of dental caries (cavities), endodontic (root canal) diagnosis, and diagnosis of dental trauma.
Digital Panoramic X-Rays
A Panoramic Radiograph is an X-ray that rotates around your head and captures all of the important structures of the oral cavity including sinuses, developing adult teeth, wisdom teeth, TMJ, and surrounding bone with perfect clarity. This technology drastically decreases a patient’s exposure to radiation in that it acquires a large amount of detail with only one exposure. It also offers a function that specifically looks at the TMJ both in the open and closed position to evaluate TMJ pain and dysfunction. It also allows us to take traditional Bite-wing radiographs with no problem. This provides comfort for those patients who gag or who have pain during x-rays. All digital radiographs and photographs can be emailed to specialists should a referral be required.
Digital Intra-Oral Cameras
A digital intra-oral camera is a small wand-like device that allows us to take pictures of the oral environment. We can use this to capture images of a broken filling, an area of decay, a fractured tooth or any areas of interest such as lesions on the soft tissue. This can be especially helpful for the patients to understand what is being proposed as treatment. We can also use these images for watch areas for change and communicate to other professionals should that be required. Kids also enjoy taking a “tour of their mouth”.
Pediatric Dentistry
Most parents feel a level of anxiety when their children require additional dental visits. We would like to put you at ease. Our hygienists and assistants are especially skilled with communicating with kids at all ages. At the first visit we will work with you and your child to make sure he/she has a positive experience. Should more advanced dentistry be needed such as fillings or crowns, space-maintainers, or even extractions, please do not worry. Dr. DellaVecchia has two small children of her own and has very good success treating small children with absolutely no pain or trauma. Co-operation and communication with the parent prior to the treatment is the key! We will come up with a game-plan prior to your visit so things will go smoothly and your child will have a great experience – even with an extraction. If your child has a medical diagnosis that might require a specialist to provide the proper dental care, we can help you through that process.
E4D Same-Day All-Porcelain Crowns and Veneers
This is probably the most exciting new innovation going on in dentistry right now. You can have accurate, strong, reliable porcelain restorations made in one day! Please check out the videos provided. No more temporaries, no more waiting 3 weeks for the permanent crown; now you can have your tooth repaired in one day. With this process our dental designers can customize your crown or veneer to fit your specific needs. If you have food impaction leading to pain, a crown that is too big or small, or a shade that doesn’t match we can correct the problem through the design process. We construct the restoration on a CAD/CAM (computer aided design) program and mill the restoration on-site. Our E4D milling system is the most accurate machine on the market. In addition, you can see through these crowns on radiographs! No more guessing what is going on under your crowns! That is truly amazing!
Cosmetic Bonding
Cosmetic bonding is an alternative to expensive cosmetic veneers. It is a painless, quicker, less expensive way of correcting the shape or shade of your teeth. It is done in one visit and often does not require anesthetic.
In addition to the traditional trays, we also offer new and improved Whitening Film. These ARE NOT the same as the over-the-counter strips. They have prescription strength whitening solution on them. They can only be sold by a dental professional. These strips do NOT slip off. They are very easy to use and stay on the tooth structure for 2-8 hours! You will get the whitening results you are looking for without the mess!
Bridges, Partial Dentures, and Full Dentures
Should you require the replacement of more than one tooth, your replacement options will vary. We will sit down with you to show you models and diagrams of the different replacement options and answer all of your questions. Dr. Raebel is especially skilled in Partial Dentures and Full Dentures – he has over 30 years experience. Between Dr. Raebel and Dr. DellaVecchia, all of your surgery and replacement can be done here.
Implants
Implants are the best option for replacing teeth. With that said, they are often the most expensive. However the price is comparable to most bridges! So it is something to consider. Implants maintain the width and density of the bone over the years. They can be used to replace one or more teeth and also can be used in full dentures for added retention. A comprehensive exam and treatment plan is required to determine if a patient is a good candidate for implants. Please call for a consultation if you are considering this treatment option.
Our doctors do perform root canal therapy for most cases. We have the latest technology including rotary instrumentation for a quick, easy experience. If you treat the tooth soon enough, root canals do not have to be painful. See a doctor right away if you have pain in a tooth for no reason or the pain lingers. Also, if you have sensitivity to heat that is a sign that you may need a root canal. Timely treatment is the key!
Advanced Surgical Procedures (Including Wisdom Teeth)
Dr. DellaVecchia has done extensive training in advanced surgical techniques. She served in the US Navy performing surgical extractions of impacted wisdom teeth, along with a variety of other surgical procedures. A comprehensive evaluation with the patient and a discussion regarding oral sedation is required before treatment.
Oral Sedation
Oral sedation involves taking a pill orally that alleviates anxiety prior to treatment. For many patients, this is an option for treatment that can really make the difference in their comfort level. A complete evaluation of the patients health is required before determining if he/she is a candidate for oral sedation. However, this is a safe and reliable tool to ensure patient comfort during dental procedures.
Emergencies/Same Day Treatment of Pain
Emergencies are welcomed at our office. Especially if you are in pain, we will almost always accommodate you that same day. You may have to “fly stand-by,” but we will work it in one way or another. And we ask our patients to understand that although we make it a priority to stay on schedule, we also do not feel that it is okay to turn away a patient in pain.
